To increase the value and appeal of the building stock, it is necessary to adopt a radically different strategic and operational approach in at least three areas:
new offering (credible), new market (international), new policies (regulatory and territorial management).
REUse is the in-depth itinerary organised at SAIE 2015 to explore reuse, social housing, the property market, public assets and online marketing services.
Organised in cooperation with Nomisma and Nomisma Energia, ReUse will offer a high-quality and participatory programme for the players involved in an Italian restart. A position paper will be discussed during the workshops organised at SAIE.
At SAIE SMART HOUSE, the theme of new scenarios in the property market will be presented by Nomisma. Luca Dondi argued recently that remodelling of existing buildings is an opportunity for companies to emerge from the crisis in the industry, pointing out that recovery will follow on from remediation and energy efficiency. Property sales are expected to rise to 470,324 in 2015 (up 16.7% on 2013) and to exceed 517,200 in 2017.
“These new scenarios are destined to change the housing and construction market,” he said. “Whereas before the crisis demand was driven by supply, it will now be driven by needs. The market will adopt a selective approach, with targeted and above all high-quality interventions that will no longer be limited to designing a building with high energy performance and comfort but will also include regenerating the surrounding context, which must be increasingly connected and equipped with services.”
