MEDinItaly

MED in Italy is a Mediterranean bioclimatic house project presented by the by the University of Rome 3 team, with the participation of University of Sapienza at Solar Decathlon Europe -  The Olympics of housing prototypes based on green self-sufficiency energy, using  local materials, integrated in landscape and using solar energy - sponsored by the Department of energy United States Government.

In 2012, the universities coming from Brazil, China, Denmark, Egypt, France, Germany, Great Britain, Japan, Norway, Netherlands, Portugal, Romania, Spain and Hungary will compete in ten trials. The challenge runs in the architectural, construction, in efficiency terms, in energy balance, comfort, functionality, communication, production and economic feasibility, innovation, sustainability.

The housing module of MEDinItaly  prototype will be exposed in the square of the Service Centre.

In the four-day event, the "Med in Italy" team will be there to explain the technical solutions, materials and technologies used.

The project is the work of a "team" composed by the faculty of Architecture, Engineer, Economics of Rome TRE University and a small team of Industrial Design of the Sapienza University of Rome, supported by the active contribution of students.
