“A dozen strokes from Turkey” Contemporary Turkish Architecture

Organized by SAIE Smart House Supported by Ordine degli Architetti Bologna, Urban Center, Creative Initiatives

location

Twelve Turkish Architects introduce their works.  Sala Atelier - Urban Center Bologna

“Contemporary architecture in Turkey demonstrates an “inbetween” state, much like anything else in the geography. Turkey finds itself in-between east and west; in-between different cultures, religions, and languages; as well as being in-between wealth and poverty. As such, Turkey not only represents cultural plurality but also conflicts and contradictions. The urban image of Turkish cities, the architectural composition of buildings reflects this eclectic plurality and contradictions.”
Celal Abdi Güzer professor at Middle East Technical University - Ankara
