The views of Exhibitors and opinion leaders

SOME OF THE COMMENTS

Silvio Sarno, Chairman of Atecap
"In recent months we have been hard at work together with the Consulta del Calcestruzzo to address crucial issues such as lawfulness, the fight against unfair competition, legislation and product and process sustainability. This is a long-term strategy with the aim of strengthening the sector and includes a renewed relationship with SAIE through the exhibition SAIEConcrete. During the Bologna exhibition we have put together a programme of more than 20 events intended to cater for all players in the sector."

Paolo Salvadori, Chairman of ORU, Imer Group
"What really convinced us was SAIE’s construction chain approach, a vision that has involved active cooperation between associations representing manufacturers and those representing users. I believe that trade fairs and companies must grow side by side in order to meet the emerging needs of customers – needs that have changed significantly since pre-crisis times. It is for this reason that we have decided to come to SAIE and make our own contribution to the event’s growth."

Mario Zoccatelli, Chairman of GBC Italia
"(..) the road that brought us to SAIE 2011 was a long one, but above all derives from a shared vision of future building, from the conviction that the main challenge is now that of reinventing the city. The outlook is no longer that of continuing to build and gradually erode further shares of land, but to regenerate the city and rehabilitate the enormous stock of existing buildings."

Mirna Terenziani, Member of the Executive Board of GBC Italia
" (...)GBC Italia is part of a major international network and once again this year will be showcasing important international experiences at SAIE. Amongst these, our colleagues from GBC Brazil and representatives of the city of Rio de Janeiro will be describing the green strategies adopted to redevelop their city in view of the opportunities offered by the Olympic Games, the football World Cup and LEED certification."

Pietro Foschi, Chairman and Managing Director of Bureau Veritas Italia
"Bureau Veritas will be taking part in SAIE 2011 because it recognises the leading role played by this historic event, which last year saw the participation of 168,000 visitors and 1,500 exhibitors, including 302 international companies."

Valeria Erba, Chairman of ANIT
"We have been taking part in SAIE for many years and as of last year have been contributing to the organisation of the Energy Efficient Envelope Plaza, which we will be repeating in 2011. Our exhibition philosophy has led us to display a series of examples of walls in 1:1 scale so as to give professionals an immediate physical perception of the wall and of the relationships between the various components."

Filippo Muccinelli Venieri, VF Venieri
"We believe SAIE is an important national trade fair and an event that our company could not afford to miss. (...)We are certain that the sector is set to recover soon, so we are preparing accordingly and taking on younger staff."

Luca Barolo, Sunward Italia
"We are taking part in SAIE because we are convinced that it is the key exhibition for the building sector and is therefore a crucial platform for brands seeking to operate at a national level."

Piergiorgio Perin, Sole Administrator of HSH
"We have been taking part in SAIE every year for the last 25 years because we believe it is the key exhibition for the building sector and showcase for technological solutions. Again this year we will be displaying our products in the exhibition SAIEBit (...)."

Gianfranco Di Cesare, Technical Director of ANDIL
"(...)the Bologna exhibition is certainly the key event for sustainable building. Unlike other events that have adopted a generalist market-oriented approach, we believe that SAIE stands out for its strong position and its commitment towards market ethics and eco-sustainability, concepts that we fully support as Federazione Confindustria Ceramica Laterizi."

Michele Marconi, Managing Director of Ripa Bianca
"(...)Ripa Bianca shares the values of SAIE: for a long time we have been shifting our focus from products to a system-based concept. Essentially, we supply our customers (architects and building firms) with complete solutions for building construction, backed by a series of services provided by professionals within the company."

Gianni Meneghini, Vice Chairman of FBM
"SAIE is without question the key exhibition for innovative products. (...) it is a very important event for us as it allows us to showcase our key technological and product solutions."

Benazzato Gru

Marco and Alessandro Benazzato, sons and successors of Luciano
Benazzato, the recently deceased founder and leader of Benazzato Gru S.p.A., express a similar sentiment: “Our father was a powerful driving force for our company, and had the farsightedness to ensure its continuity by having us grow within the company alongside administrative director Piera Martinone. We have chosen SAIE as a marketing event to demonstrate to our Italian and international customers that we firmly intend to steer the company out of the crisis that has continued for far too long. Benazzato Gru S.p.A. will be presenting new projects at SAIE. While we are obviously sensitive to costs in the current climate, we are certain that our investment in communication at this event will enable us to reach out to a clientele that is attentive to the emerging needs of the building sector. Our participation in this event is both an expression of gratitude to the person who led this company for thirty of its almost fifty years and a show of confidence in the new management’s abilities to achieve ever more ambitious goals.”

FM gru
Giacomo Fuochi of FM gru S.r.l. says that despite the difficult period for the
building sector in Italy, the company intends to continue to invest in high-quality trade fair activities. “Italy is still going through a very difficult economic period. The building sector in particular is in the midst of a severe crisis that unfortunately is far way from being resolved. But it is precisely for this reason that we believe it is vital to continue to take part in SAIE, which has always been the most important showcase event for our sector, both in Italy and abroad. Our participation demonstrates that FM gru, a leader in the lifting sector, believes it is possible to emerge from the tunnel. The exhibition is the perfect opportunity to showcase new and technically innovative solutions for improving construction site work, reaching out both to Italian customers who already know us and to foreign customers, including those operating in emerging markets.”

Liebherr Italia
Efisio MOI, Vice Chairman of Liebherr Italia spa, confirms that his company will be present at SAIE: “Liebherr Italia S.p. A. will be taking part in SAIE 2011, an important exhibition for the lifting sector, with its mobile crane division, representing the German factory Liebherr-Werk Ehingen GmbH, and its tower crane division, representing the factories Liebherr-Werk Biberach GmbH (Germany) and Liebherr Industrias Metallicas S. A. (Spain).”

Manitowoc Cranes
“It’s the perfect exhibition for unveiling new products”, says Enrico Angiolini, Sales Director South Europe for Manitowoc Cranes, who adds: “Manitowoc Cranes is an American industrial group that incorporates brands such as POTAIN, GROVE, MANITOWOC and NATIONAL CRANE. Its main goal is to offer customers the most technologically advanced and comprehensive range of lifting solutions. Our passion for lifting solutions drives us to continue to invest in research and in developing new products and solutions, even in difficult economic times like these. Manitowoc will therefore be pleased to present its latest technologies at SAIE, testifying to its unflagging efforts to improve its professional relationship with customers as well as enhancing site safety. With numerous factories and branches all over the world, Manitowoc guarantees global support and is the perfect partner for any activity in the construction sector, both now and in the future.”

Merlo spa
“We consider SAIE the key exhibition for the building industry, and especially for machinery and equipment,” says Agostino Aime, Sales Manager of Merlo spa Industria Metalmeccanica, “and have been participating in SAIE for over 30 years. For the last few years, we have emphasised a ‘hands-on’ approach, with a 300 m2 area for working demonstrations added to our regular exhibition space. At the next edition, we will also promote a special device for cleaning solar panels and a very high capacity rotary telescopic lift with unique features in terms of operator safety (compliance with Directive 13000) as well as running cost and operation.”
