SAIE NEW STONE AGE DESIGN, an initiative organised as a partnership between SAIE, Confindustria Marmomacchine and the Natural Stone Consortium, will be back in 2010 to demonstrate how stone integrates with greenery to create new forms of urban design with a special
exhibition “Green & Stone: a new vision for urban design”.
Opening up the sector of authentic natural stone to new markets means looking to the world of architecture and design, offering the technical and production potential of the marble sector to designers and entrepreneurs who in their everyday work seek out new products and new systems for enhancing, furnishing and lending personality to their buildings.
The New Stone Age Design exhibition at SAIE 2010 focuses on how stone products can resonate with natural surrounds in general, and outdoor projects in particular. 15 projects have been developed to illustrate the new philosophy behind the use of stone, each geared to the particular production sector of the different participating companies. Every setting recreates a natural backdrop for a broad range of stone products, which together with the wall enclosures create a series of delightfully bucolic environments. Luxuriant plants fill the voids in the dry stone perimeter walls to create a pleasing mix of natural greenery and crafted stone objects.
This Saie New Stone Age Design exhibition of natural stone products was developed by Studio Lucchese Design.
